High School Spanish Prepares for Cinco de Mayo – By: Antonio Rodriguez & Alejandra Cavazos

This year, Mrs. Ortiz and dedicated students of her Spanish class are putting together the school’s first Cinco de Mayo program in over five years! The production will take place on Thursday, May 5th and will include many of the Spanish class students, quinceañera dances, and performances made by dancers of the Mexican Heritage Society. Along with the assorted dances traditional to Mexico, there will also be singing performances. The students participating are dedicating much of their free time in order to practice for the program to ensure it is memorable. Many students are looking forward to the program becoming a successful, new tradition of Sabine Pass ISD.
